You Already Know This Isn't Working

You've tried the home office, the coffee shop, the coworking space. The distractions, the noise, the same four walls. Your productivity suffers. Your energy drains. You keep saying you'll take a break — but the break never comes.

You don't need another workspace. You need a different environment — one that gives you focus, fresh air, and the reset your mind has been asking for.

Your Office Is a Cloud Forest

La Hesperia is not a coworking space. It is a working conservation reserve and sustainable farm where you can focus deeply, recharge through nature, and still stay connected to your work.

Whether you're finishing a thesis, building a project, or simply looking to trade city noise for the cloud forest, this is the kind of environment that helps you do your best thinking.

Stable fiber internet
Dedicated workspace with natural light
3 meals a day from our organic gardens
Shared or private rooms available
700 hectares of reserve outside your door
Transport from highway to reserve included

When you step away from your work, you can walk into the forest, spend time on the farm, or just sit with a coffee and take it in. You decide how much or how little to engage.

For over 50 years, La Hesperia has supported itself through its own work. What we do here — from our programs to the farm — is what keeps the forest standing. Being here means being part of that.

What Past Remote Workers Say

★★★★★

“As a remote working parent, staying at La Hesperia allowed me to focus on work while the kids enjoyed their time learning and playing on the farm. The team were super flexible, giving me the opportunity to get fully involved with activities around my working hours. Also the internet and power supply were flawless — something I don't take for granted after spending the past year working remotely and travelling. We hope to return soon!”

Frequently Asked Questions

How reliable is the internet?

The internet is good and reliable — suitable for video calls, cloud-based work, research uploads, streaming, and general productivity. We keep it running well so your work is never interrupted.

Can I choose between shared and private rooms?

Yes. Shared rooms start from $880/month. Private rooms are available from $1,000/month. Let us know your preference when you apply.

Is this a coworking space?

No. This is not a traditional coworking space — it is a natural reserve where you can work remotely in peace and comfort. There are no open-plan offices or networking events. The focus is on quiet productivity, nature, and personal recharge.

Is it safe?

La Hesperia has operated safely for over 50 years. The reserve is private, gated, and staffed full-time. The nearest hospital is approximately one hour away in Santo Domingo. We have first aid resources on-site.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No — Spanish is not required. Some of our staff speak English and all coordination is available in English. Our local staff may not speak English, but they are very kind and communication is easy. It is also a great opportunity to learn Spanish naturally through daily life.

Do I need a visa?

Most nationalities can enter Ecuador without a visa for up to 90 days. Visas can be extended after 90 days by paying a small fee. We do not handle visas or permits directly, but we provide guidance and orientation on the process so you are fully prepared.

Can I do weekend trips?

Yes. We can help organize transport for weekend excursions at an additional cost. Many guests use weekends to visit nearby towns, hot springs, or other natural areas.
